Historic Lebanon’s
Mission & Approach

The Historic Lebanon mission is simple; we use historic preservation for positive economic impact in the Lebanon community.

We do this through the Main Street Approach™ to community-based revitalization.

  • Supports a community’s transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart.

We partner with the City of Lebanon on beautification and streetscaping.

  • Involves creating a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating partnerships, community involvement, and resources for the district.

We partner with the City of Lebanon, The Lebanon-Wilson Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Lebanon Group.

  • Focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies.

We partner with other Main Street organizations to support our businesses through promotion, community events, and training.

  • Positions the downtown or commercial district as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases a community’s unique characteristics.

We work to promote our downtown as a vibrant hub, promoting businesses, historic places, and events!

Our Farm to Table Chefs

  • Mallory at Demeter’s Common grew up on a farm here in Lebanon with her three little sisters. She studied at TTU in Cookeville and graduated in 2013 with a bachelors degree in Agriculture. After graduation she worked on an organic produce and flower farm for 6 years in nashville, learning the ins and outs of organic farming and how to use farm fresh products in the kitchen. In 2019 Mallory left the farm to start her own small grocery here in Lebanon! Demeter’s Common celebrates each season of agriculture by selling locally grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, glass bottled milk, sourdough bread, local cheese, and much more. Mallory thrives in the kitchen and strives to enlighten her community on the beauty of the earth and the magic that can come from it. Cooking and feeding her community local food grown by amazing people is what brings Mallory pure joy.
